Ecosystem processes


Date: May 28th June 2nd 2007


Place: The course will take place at the field station Brorfelde Observatory, situated appr 80 km west of Copenhagen. Further information on how to reach the station will be provided separately.


Teachers:  A number of researchers in Biology, Geography and Chemistry in Demanrk and abroad will be present and give lectures; provide demonstrations and organize field measurements.


Language: The course will be conducted in English.

Aim: The course is aiming at giving a general overview of ecosystem processes for non-specialists and will focus on sensitive processes of interest in a Global change context. This course is planned especially to concentrate on production and emission of greenhouse gases and provide opportunity for conducting small field experiments and establish measurements with different types of instruments.


Fee: The course is free for all COGCI students and for graduate students in the course exchange programme. Other students will pay for food and lodging:  1500 DKK or 200.

Credits: This comprehensive course consists of presentations, field work and project presentations by the participants  and is estimated to give 7.5 ECTS credit units.
