The Centre for Research into Atmospheric Chemistry at University College Cork in Ireland has been awarded 4 Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships in the area of Atmospheric Science. The fellows will work together in the new Environmental Research Institute on a project to characterise the processes that produce fine (PM2.5) particles in the atmosphere. A field measurement programme will be organised for collection of particulates and subsequent chemical analysis of ions, metals and organics using ion chromatography, GC-MS, ICP-OES, XRF, microscopy etc. Finally, source apportionment modelling will be employed to determine sources of PM2.5 in the atmosphere.

Applications are invited from PhD qualified scientists with experience in the following areas;
